The Salt Spring Basketry Guild is delighted to offer this opportunity for those with a passion for basketry and plant fibre. Salt Spring Island has been a hub for basketry exploration for the past 30 years.
As the 30th anniversary of the Salt Spring Island Basketry Guild approaches, we wanted to celebrate and bring people together from far and wide to connect with each other and share in our collective passion – baskets!
The Gathering includes
Five 2-day workshops with internationally renowned basketry Instructors held on June 17-19, 2027.
Followed by a Basketry and Fibre Festival which is open to the public on Saturday June 20, 2027.
The Festival will have
a selection of mini fibre workshops open for registration closer to the date
multiple free demonstrations
hands-on activities for all ages
vendors with a range of wares.

Two ways to gather
A course ticket includes two full days of instruction on June 17th and 18th with your selected teacher, course materials and celebration dinner on June 18th. You’ll also have access to the public fair day.
A festival ticket includes access to our public fair day, where there will be short mini workshops, artisan demonstrations, a variety of craft vendors and delicious local food.
